Neighbourhood Plan

We are starting the consultation for our neighbourhood plan.  Coming through your door is the questionnaire about open space.   What space is important to you? Which space do you want to preserve? Where do think would be appropriate for new developments?  Please complete the questionnaire, the bigger the response the better and stronger our neighbourhood plan will be.

Hogweed on Riverside Park

We are aware that giant hogweed is growing in the Riverside Park along the path by the river.  This looks very much like cow parsley but grows taller and has a thicker purple mottled stem.  Importantly its sap is highly toxic, it causes burns and blisters if it touches the skin.

We are removing it when we see it, but it spreads so easily, so if you see it, keep away.

Walking Football

For the second year we are running walking football sessions.  These sessions are coached/refereed by PFC with the hope that enough people will be interested to play regularly.  Contact the Parish Council through this website or ring 01670 858664 for further information.

Community Cinema Club

Choppington Disabled Group is running a cinema club.  They screen a film every 3rd Wednesday at 1pm.  Chair Graham Huntley says, ‘We’d like to encourage those people who watch alone in their own homes, to come along, and afterwards chat about the film with others over a cup of tea and biscuit.’

Next screening is on 20th June at 1pm
