- To accept apologies for absence and to remind members that any Member not attending a meeting of the Council for 6 consectutive months will be deemed to be no longer a member of the Parish Council

- To receive and agree as a true record the minutes of the meeting held on 24 June 2026 (page 3)
- To consider any matters arising from those minutes not already on the agenda
- To appoint a vice-chairman to serve for 2026/27. This was an outstanding item on the agenda from June meeting.
- Report from neighbourhood police. A representative of Neighbourhood police is invited to present their report on policing activities in our area and take questions from members.(separate cover)
- To receive a verbal update from the Parish Clerk on current issues including:
- Trees and Green areas – Members will receive a report regarding a meeting with Greg Gavin of NCC as an update on the wilding of green areas
- Youth activities. Members will be updated on the summer holiday activities.
- Play Areas.
- Gym at Cleaswell Park.
- Neighbourhood Plan
- Liddells Field barrier and path
- Library Service proposals
- Community Governance Review
- Grass cutting equipment
- To receive a report regarding River Wansbeck. The Parish Council recognises that it has no direct responsibility for the River Wansbeck or the operation and maintenance of the barrage. However, the river and barrage are important to the local community, both environmentally and as a recreational and amenity facility.
- Members are requested to consider the report that provides background to the current position with proposals for a Council position.
- Members will be requested to consider a co-option to this committee of a resident with relevant knowledge of this subject.
- To consider the proposals arising from the Resident Forum on 29th July 2026
- Members are invited to consider passing the following resolution:
That the press and public be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the following item(s), permitted under Part I of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended by the Local Authorities (Access to Information) (Exempt Information) (England) Order 2006), as the matter is confidential.

Notes to be read in connection with Agenda Items 2 and 3
Note for the Public – Any resident of the Parish may raise topics for discussion during the public question session. The length of the public session, normally fifteen minutes, is at the discretion of the Chairman. Any resident may speak once on a subject, and they are requested to avoid duplication as far as possible. Councillors are not allowed to participate, other than by asking direct questions for clarification. There is limited space for public attendance so for members of the public unable to attend, questions can be emailed or telephoned to the Parish Clerk info@choppingtonparishcouncil.gov.uk or 01670 858664 by 12 noon on the day of an evening meeting and read out during the public session.
Note re Declarations of interest – Members are required to disclose personal and prejudicial interests relating to any matters to be considered at the meeting. The disclosure must include the nature of the interest. An interest must also be disclosed in the meeting if it only becomes apparent to the member during the meeting.
If a member who has declared a personal interest then considers the interest to be prejudicial he/she shall declare that, and, after making any representations, answering questions or giving evidence relating to the business, the member shall withdraw from the room for the remainder of the item to which the interest relates.
