MINUTES OF THE ALLOTMENT COMMITTEE OF CHOPPINGTON PARISH COUNCIL TUESDAY 19 NOVEMBER 2019 IN THE PARISH COUNCIL OFFICES

A009/19        1.         APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE

A011/19 3. PUBLIC QUESTIONS

                             

Members of the public

  1. Advised that 2 bales of hay had been dumped in front of the north end gates.
  2. Requested that the notice of meeting should be placed in the noticeboard on the allotment site.

 

A012/19  5.  ADOPTION OF THE MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING

                             

Members agreed the minutes of the Allotment Committee of 12 June 2019.

 

A013/19  6. MATTERS ARISING

 

A008/19. The Parish Clerk advised the Parish Council’s solicitor had been instructed to proceed with the transfers.

A014/19 8. REPORT BY THE DEPUTY PARISH CLERK.

 

  • Lettings 2019/20.It was reported that all fees were paid, and there were two vacant plots which the Deputy Parish Clerk would offer to those on the waiting list.
  • Security Officers had met with tenants who used the north gate as their main gate. The lock had been vandalised in two recent incidents, the latter one rendering the lock inoperative. The Parish Clerk had agreed to a protective cowl being placed around the lock, to protect it from interference. This measure would be put on both gates. In the mean while a temporary lock was in place with a small number of keys available to tenants for access. It had been suggested by tenants that CCTV might enhance security, but this would not be feasible, essentially as there was not an electric supply. Tenants were aware that Members had agreed that the cost of additional locks may be added to the 2020/21 rent.

The meeting closed at the conclusion of this item, there being no further business to be transacted.
