PARISH COUNCIL MEETING

WEDNESDAY 27 May 2026

Agenda – Part 1

  1. To Accept Apologies for Absence. and to remind members that any Member not attending a meeting of the Council for six consecutive months will be deemed to be no longer a member of the Parish Council.
  2. Members will identify any declarations of disclosable pecuniary and other  registerable interest(s)
  3. Public Questions – please see notes for the public.
  4. Planning Matters for consideration. 
  5. To note for accuracy the minutes of the Annual Meeting of the Parish Council meeting on 13 May 2026 (page 4-10)
  6. To approve the minutes of the Parish Council on 11 March 2026
  7. Matters arising
  8. To note the minutes of the Finance Committee on 18 March 2026
  9. To receive the end of year report from our internal auditor.
  10. Governance and audit.  The Parish Clerk will advise members of issues arising from the internal audit report members will consider any action.
  11. Parish Clerk’s Report including:
    1. Bank Reconciliations.  Members will be asked to approve the reconciliation for the Chairman to sign. 
    1. Finance Report.  This information will be placed on the Parish Council website. 
    1. Health and Safety Report. 
    1. Current issues.  For information only, Members will receive notice of correspondence, meetings and events.
  12. To receive and approve the year end statements and accounts for presentation to external audit – Members will receive the Annual Governance and Accountability Return (AGAR) and are requested to authorise the Chairman of the Parish Council to sign confirmations of the discharge of Councillors’ governance responsibilities and accounts for presentation to external audit.

12.1    Annual Governance Statement 2025/26 (section 1) – Members will be asked to consider the statement and their responsibilities in relation to internal control, including arrangements for the preparation of accounting statements.

12.2    Accounting Statements 2025/26 – Members will be asked to consider and approve Section 2 – Accounting Statements 2025/26.

13.      Bus shelters.  At the March Parish Council it was agreed to refresh the graffitied bus shelters and those with meshes, which were showing rust.  After site visits by the approved contractor members are asked to consider the recommendation to fully repaint the affected bus shelters.

Agenda – Part 2.  Members will be asked to consider if there are matters that in consideration of Standing Order 3 and because of their special and confidential nature, require the exclusion of press and public.

Note for the Public – There will be limited space for members of the public to attend allocated on a first come first served basis.  Public questions can be notified to the Parish Clerk before 12noon on the day of the meeting and will be read out in the meeting during the public session.  As usual, it is not the Council’s custom to respond during the public session.  Where appropriate the Chairman will inform the resident of the action to be taken, that is, passed to a committee; go on the next agenda; or the points will be taken into consideration if already on the agenda
