The Parish Council works in partnership with Stakeford and Bomarsund Sports and Welfare Centre to provide football, cricket, bowls and snooker to our community. We fund football training at local schools as an extracurricular activity and school holiday play includes a programme of sport-based activities for under 12s.
New opportunities arise with the introduction of the PlayZone at Cleaswell Park which will be managed by the Parish Council. The Parish Council has a responsibility to encourage participation from groups that the Football Foundation identifies as facing barriers to accessing sport. In addition, the PlayZone provides scope to expand the range of activities on offer, including organised netball, basketball, walking football, fitness groups, and informal casual play. The PlayZone will be available to book for private use from early 2026.
