Why community spaces matter
Strong communities need places to meet, connect and take part in local life. Community buildings provide space for activities, events and support networks that benefit residents of all ages.
What residents told us
From our residents’ survey, we identified that people value having somewhere to meet — from small drop-in activities to larger gatherings for family celebrations and community events.
Current and future provision
We work with partner organisations to provide community spaces, including Stakeford and Bomarsund Welfare Centre and West Sleekburn Village Hall. From Easter 2026, we are partnering with the Wesleyan Church and the Scouts to provide additional accommodation for community activities in the Guide Post area.
